1963 Kansas City Athletics Player's Jacket
Gift from Charley Finley to Furman Bisher, summer 1963.
Wilson, size 36. Green satin, button-down jacket features “A” logo in white-on-gold double twill, front pockets on each side with green leather-lined mouths; green, white and gold striped, elasticized collar, waistline and cuffs.
This jacket is from the first year of the green and gold colors and famous “A” logo. When Mickey Mantle first saw these new A’s uniforms, he snickered, "They should have come out of the dugout on tippy-toes, holding hands and singing."
Charley Finley gave Furman Bisher and his boys a few of these jackets when he visited Atlanta in summer 1963 to explore possibilities of the A’s moving there.
